On September 10, 2024, Dan On Foods Corporation proudly hosted a visit from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) at our facility. The delegation included 40 representatives from leading agricultural businesses in the U.S., with the special presence of Ms. Karen Ross, Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
This event marked a significant milestone in the strengthening of the long-standing partnership between Vietnam and the U.S., particularly in fostering collaboration between Dan On Foods and USDA to support trade and business in the agricultural sector. The visit also opened new opportunities to connect and collaborate within the green and sustainable food production industry.
During the visit, the delegation explored the entire Dan On Foods facility, taking in the beautiful surroundings along the Mekong River, where a rainwater storage system of up to 2,000m³ helps reuse water for toilets and an on-site organic garden. The facility is also powered by solar panels that supply up to 70% of the plant’s energy needs. The guests were impressed by our water fountain display and toured the exclusive amenities provided for our staff. They received a detailed walkthrough of our closed-loop production process, from sourcing and processing to packaging Dan-D Pak products, guided by Ms. Lưu Bảo Hoa, CEO of Dan On Foods Corporation.
After the tour, Dan On Foods Corporation hosted a warm and intimate lunch at our Innovation Center, which opened in April this year. A standout moment was the surprise giant salad dish, inspired by Dan On, the company’s founder.
For Mr. Dan, while this dish is a simple street food in Vietnam, it introduced international guests to the rich flavors of the country. The act of mixing the salad together symbolized the collective efforts to achieve shared success and reinforced the values that Dan On Foods and Vietnamese businesses contribute to bringing local products to the global market.
Ms. Karen Ross expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Dan On Foods team for the thoughtful hospitality and praised the company for its employee-focused work environment. She was particularly impressed by the clean energy efforts, such as the reuse of rainwater and solar power systems, which reflect Dan On’s commitment to environmental protection alongside business operations. These efforts ensure safety for the local community while maintaining premium quality in every Dan-D Pak product.
Dan On Foods Corporation hopes that this visit will leave a lasting impression on the delegates, not only of Vietnam but also of the potential for future collaborations in sustainable business partnerships.
