Job Title: Buyer

Deparment: Import - Export

I. Job purpose:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our global procurement team operating within an international time zone. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing materials, supplies, and services from global suppliers, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement to support our worldwide operations.

II. Duties and responsibilities:

- Execute procurement activities for assigned materials and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.

- Review purchase requisitions and negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best terms and conditions.

- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock levels to support production requirements.

- Collaborate with production planners to schedule deliveries and ensure timely supply of materials.

- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics.

- Resolve any supply-related issues promptly to minimize production downtime.

- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.

- Stay informed about market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments.

- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations related to procurement activities.

 

III. Right:

- Ask departments to provide relevant information to complete job.

- Decide on issues within the scope of work and report to Head of Department.

 

IV. Report to:

- Import – Export Manager

V. Requirements:

Knowledge:

   - Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience:

   - Minimum of 3 years as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

Skill:

   - Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

   - Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.

   - Proficiency in Navision or ERP or SAP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

   - Ability to work independently and effectively manage time-sensitive tasks.

   - Very good command of both spoken and written English.

   - Ability to thrive in an international time zone setting. (10:00 PM - 06:00 AM).
